Leadership Life Style Commitment

Ministry leaders are vital to the overall success and impact of Northern Life Church (NLC). As a leader you should always look beyond your current task to the greater task of building up the kingdom of God. Leaders should also look beyond the confines of their ministry description and seek to do their work as unto the Lord. Accordingly, Leaders are asked to sign this Lifestyle Commitment as one key part of their Leadership Commitment to NLC and our Northern Life Kids Ministry.

The following lifestyle commitment is based upon our Statement of Faith as a Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada Church, our understanding of the teaching of the Bible and our commitment as a church to protecting our children:

1. I affirm my faith in Jesus Christ as my Saviour, and my submission to Him as my
Lord. I submit to the authority of the Word of God.
2. I will submit to being loyal to the leadership and ministries of NLC. If I have disagreements with leadership or a co-leader in ministry, I will follow proper procedures to address those disagreements.
3. I will be a prayerful supporter of the leadership and ministries of NLC. I will endeavour to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace as I work and connect with others at NLC and in particular Northern Life Kids Ministry leaders / volunteers and the children I will be ministering to.
4. I commit to showing up on time (10am) and prepared for my ministry Sunday
5. I will make every effort to attend Northern Life Kids Planning Meetings when required (about every 3 months).
6. I will respond to the children I ministry to with Christian love and understanding in all situations.
7. I will act as a positive role model for children by maintaining an attitude of respect, loyalty, patience, and maturity.
8. I will dress appropriately for working and interacting with children.
9. I will complete a yearly Plan to Protect training session.
10. I will not engage in inappropriate displays of affection / physical interaction or corrective measures as defined by my Plan to Protect Training.
11. I will learn and follow Northern Life Kids Policies and Procedures.
12. I will refrain from swearing or telling offensive or vulgar jokes.
13. I will avoid involving children in burdensome or disturbing problems or issues.
14. I will refrain from sharing or keeping secrets with children.
15. I will not abuse Alcohol or drugs.
16. I will not shame or purposefully humiliate a child.
17. I will endeavor that my actions and words be God honouring in church and outside of church ministry hours.

I agree with the above Lifestyle Commitment.

Plan to Protect is a in-person training that is a yearly requirement. If you have yet to complete the training an online option will be sent to you.
